Online Couples Therapy

Also known as telehealth, telemedicine, teletherapy, virtual therapy, or video therapy

Not sure about online couples therapy?

I get it. I was not sure how it would work at first, too.

I thought that in-person therapy was best, especially for couples. I am a Seattle-based sex, intimacy and couples therapist and when the pandemic happened, I had to adapt to provide therapy safely to my clients. I've invested in high-quality technology to offer the most premium virtual therapy experience possible and now see clients who live all over Washington state.

Here’s what I've learned: online therapy is wonderful! My clients are very happy with it too and here’s why:

It’s comfortable

You can log onto your therapy session from the comfort of wherever you are - home, office, backyard, or even your car. You can cuddle up in your favorite chair (or couch, or bed!) with your favorite mug of tea, your pet can snooze at your feet, and you don’t even have to put your shoes on to go outside.

It’s more accessible

Many of my clients travel frequently. Online therapy means we can meet while you are anywhere in the state of Washington or out of state on a short visit.

It’s convenient

My clients love not having to commute to my office through traffic or unsafe weather conditions. You don’t need to worry about finding parking or being on time. Many of my clients don’t need to get childcare to cover therapy sessions. You can hold or feed your baby during our session, and older kiddos can be (safely!) in the house.

It’s private and discreet

Concerned about someone seeing you walk in/out of a therapist’s office? That’s not an issue with virtual therapy. Also, I guarantee privacy on my end of the session and can help you with ideas on finding a private location that feels right for you.

You might also be worried that it will feel awkward. I get that, too. Therapy is awkward at first (even in person). You are meeting me for the first time, and I ask you to share personal details about your life. I work very hard to create a virtual space that feels comfortable and safe. Nearly all of my clients have shared that after the first session or two they found online therapy to feel “normal”. I trust you will find that, too.
